Big Sean’s ‘Blessings’ has been the only street-proclaimed banger/*fire emoji to come from 2015 that hasn’t featured Paul McCartney whistling or been surprised dropped from The 6. It might be because ‘Blessings’ features the culprits behind both of these acts, but it should be noted that it was pretty astute of Big Sean to align the single from his upcoming album, Dark Sky Paradise, with them in advance.

Little more than a month after the single’s release we’ve, been #blessed with the visuals. Directed by Darren Craig, the music video is an exercise in chiaroscuro-style contrasting of dark and light that plays on Drake’s crooning of “waaay up.” It shows all three artists amongst the clouds and, if not in heaven, at least near its stairway.

It seems no one can get in a music video with Kanye these days and not look like they’ve layered everything from a Season One Lookbook. And, of course, Kanye can’t get in a video himself without his acclaimed Yeezy 750s. The omnipresent Beats Pill makes an appearance just in case you forgot this was a rap video and, back on that emoji tip, prayer hands are so oft used they should probably have gotten a feature credit. Putting all hypebeast comments aside; it really is a beautifully shot video and is more than worth your next five minutes, give it watch.
