Back in October, Run The Jewels dropped a track, ‘Rubble Kings Theme (Dynamite)’, as part of the Adult Swim Singles Program. The song will appear on Rubble Kings: The Album, inspired by Shan Nicholson’s documentary on gang politics in the South Bronx in the 70s, and is produced by Little Shalimar, who scored the film. The album is out on December 15 via Mass Appeal.

Yesterday, Run The Jewels shared the video to accompany the track – a classic-cartoon style animation that tells the tale of two NYC rival gangs battling in the subway and on the streets. Nicholson commented on the clip in a recent press release:

“This video was inspired by the Rubble Kings documentary and the works of the great Ralph Bakshi. The video depicts a story of street justice in the turbulent streets of the 1970’s South Bronx. We follow ‘Little Nina’, who’s violently attacked by a rival gang on her way home from her grandmother’s house. What follows is an all out rumble between her gang, the fictionalized ‘Rubble Kings’ and the ‘Javelins’. Run the Jewels alongside producer Little Shalimar provide the rugged soundtrack to the piece.”
