On the last week of August almost 70,000 people descend on the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to party in the dust for a week at the annual Burning Man arts festival. This years celebration was themed around the concept of ‘Carnival of Mirrors’ and as usual attendees pulled out all the stops when it came to their personal looks. Burning Man abounds in post-apocalyptic style, if the apocalypse somehow spared those with a penchant for white-dreads and spirithoods. If you throw in some problematic cultural appropriation, glitter, and a hell of a lot of dust — then you’ve got yourself a festival.
