Kanye West and Joan Smalls are the faces of Balmain’s new campaign

Yeezy balls out for the family's main man Oliver Rousteing

The bond between Balmain and the Kardashians is definitely thicker than water. The luxury house’s creative director Oliver Rousteing’s friendship with the entire family is as strong as his jawline and the love he has for the Wife of Pablo is shared equally with Pablo himself. The new campaign that launched on the French label’s Instagram hour ago sees a dramatic fall from Kanye West in stylish garb that is reminiscent of his killer look at the 2016 MET Gala.

Along with model Joan Smalls, the photo of the pair was uploaded with the caption “WHEN MUSIC MEETS FASHION”. Smalls and West have been selected for the 2016 season as embodiments of fashion and music respectively. Marking the first time Yeezy has modelled for the brand since back in 2014 with wife Kim, the upcoming campaign is sure is be a blockbuster. As a designer himself, Ye clearly has a high level of respect for the brand, decking out his whole family in Balmain at his own fashion line’s launch back at the Yeezy Season 3 premiere in February earlier this year.

Yep, it seems that Kanye clearly has more a more important agenda than the Taylor Swift beef to occupy his time. Indeed, the fall in the ad itself, captured by Steven Klien, is as graceful as they come. We’re not sure if the backstory is that he slipped or if Smalls supposedly pushed him, but either way Swift should take notes on how to fall with grace as her fall has been an absolute mess by comparison.

The videos that accompanied the first shot on the gram demand that we “#BEREADY”. What exactly is yet to come we cannot be sure, but the ‘Black Skinhead’ music video vibes we got from the shoot are already more than enough to get us hyped.
