Kicks: Nike HyperAdapt 1.0

A laceless existence is now

Posted by

At the recent Innovation 2016 event, Nike have rendered shoe laces (or at least the action of tying them) obsolete by announcing the new HyperAdapt 1.0.

It’s taken a decade of development but Nike’s innovation team have delivered the first foray into blending feet and shoe into one cohesive unit. Designed by Tiffany Beers and Tinker Hatfield who helped create the Air Yeezy and Air Mag,  the HyperAdapt works by having sensors located in the shoe that automatically tighten when you put your foot into them, with buttons on the side of the shoe should you need it.

They’re arriving this Holiday season which means they’ll make brilliant Christmas presents. This is a members only release, so hop onto the Nike+ app to get first dibs as they won’t last. Until then we can only salivate at the prospect of never tying up our laces ever again.

Cycle through the future of lace-free footwear above.
