Real Deal Comix are the violent, expressive storyboards of LA-based artist, Lawrence Hubbard. Hubbard describes the comic as ‘your inner rage’ – his characters are ‘a bunch of angry dudes, who don’t back down.’

Essentially self-taught, Lawrence was inspired by MAD and Marvel growing up. Now Stussy have been inspired by Hubbard’s comics to do a t-shirt series in his honor which you can view in the gallery above and cop here.

With a score by Dam Funk, Stussy had the chance to chat to the artist who gives us some insights on his beginnings as an artist, living through the 1970s and the stories and characters inspired by his beloved hometown.
