Whether he’s hanging with musicians like Ratking in NYC or immersing himself in a city’s subculture, Jesse Lizotte is an artist whose photography always carries a stunning candidness to it. He manages to invoke contrasting senses of deep consideration and spontaneity in every shot. It’s as if he is moving through every location with the purpose of taking pictures, but not as his only goal. The photos he sent to us from his trip around Los Angeles are perfect moments like this, at once interesting from an observer’s point of view while still loaded with distinct personal significance.
