Watch this quick little doco on the wonderful Barry McGee, as he paints a large scale mural up on the BAM (Brookly Academy of Music) school building in Brooklyn.
The mural was commissioned by Vanity Fair, in conjunction with Cadillac, The Mark Morris Dance group, and BAM, as part of the 2012 Art on the Streets intiative.
The short clip encapsulates snippets from artists and friends of McGee’s who speak of his influence on their lives and the life of the artistic world.
The clip obviously doesn’t do the piece justice in comparison to seeing the piece in real life, but we still think it provides a pretty sick idea of what it would be like up close. Check it out.
