It’s a little scary when you can actually remember the time when things that are now classified as vintage or ‘retro’ were actually the hottest shit you could get. This is, unfortunately, the day I am living in now, when the first iPods we copped are now museum fodder and are starting to fetch those ‘investment’ prices. The retirement of the iPod Classic has certainly sparked a surge of re-sellers listing the model online at inflated prices and, amazingly (or not), people are actually forking out the big bucks for the now discontinued models. According to Billboard, one sold for $900 and I even spied a couple being hawked for thousands of dollars. (Don’t believe me? Check here and here). This has me feeling all kinds of ways but mainly I’m trying to remember where I put that old-ass iPod Classic I had.
