When Aussies turn pro, it’s pretty normal for them to relocate overseas to be closer to the action. Not so for Armourdillo Flow rider, Stephen McInnes, who’s pretty happy to be on home soil. We caught up with the Melbourne lad who gives us the lowdown on his life in and outside of skate.

My name is… Stephen McInnes.

I live in… Melbourne, Australia.

Besides from skating I also spend time…working at Antics International, hanging out with my girlfriend Melanie, drawing and drinking cheap red wine.

My parents always thought I was going to be…I used to argue with my parents a lot when I was younger so they would probably say a lawyer or some sort of political activist.

The trick that took me the longest to learn was…Switch Heels or F/S flip still can’t do them very well.

In high school I…was a nerd, almost the only kid with a skateboard everyone else were jocks.

When I’m skating I listen to…lately I’ve been listening to Weezer.

My liquor of choice after a long day is…beer, I’ve found a bottle shop that sell cheap Tecate here in Melbourne so that’s been the after-skate beer for awhile now.

I think long-boards are…better than scooters!

My perfect sponsors would be…Stereo Skateboards, Theeve Trucks, Hubba Wheels, WeSC Clothing, Osiris Shoes and Armourdillo.

The last thing I did that I regret now was…making a bet on a switch flip with Trevor Ward, the man can switch flip better than the normal kickflip!

The perfect girl would be…the one I’ve got!

One place I’ll rather be right now is…in the skatepark behind my office wall or back in America!

Tomorrow I will be…hopefully skateboarding, depending on Melbourne’s unpredictable weather.

In ten years time I will be…old, but hopefully still skating.
