Camping overnight for a product release is, to me, one of life’s great mysteries. Much like the Bermuda Triangle or 5 Seconds of Summer, I cannot comprehend the reasoning behind this continuing phenomenon. But as witnessed in our fair country this morning, people were still keen enough to use an annual leave day to wait out the front of Apple and various telecom stores for the first batch of the iPhone 6. And in Perth, Western Australia, one guy’s dream moment became every iPhone owner’s nightmare as he did the unthinkable – drop his unprotected new iPhone on the pavement – on national television. And thanks to the internet, will surely be the butt of jokes worldwide. Apparently the phone is fine though. Nice one, mate.
