Following the well-received news that Chance The Rapper was making his way to Australia as part of the 2016/17 festival circuit, fans have now been blessed with the news of two headline shows in the new year. Expectedly, those in Melbourne and Sydney will get the opportunity to witness the Chicago MC take over an entire venue for the first time, with shows taking place at Luna Park Sydney on January 3 and Melbourne’s Festival Hall on January 4.
You don’t need to search too hard to find out how good 2016 has been for Chance (and his loyal following), with the release of the critically acclaimed album Magnificent Colouring Book, sell-out North American tour dates, and basically being touted as your favourite rappers’ favourite rapper. His looming appearances at Beyond The Valley, Origin NYE, and Field Day were already getting the local crowd hyped but these solo shows are definitely going to be something special.
