Netflix have tapped some serious hip-hop A-listers for their new show Rhythm + Flow. The new 10-part reality series aims to find the next rising talent in hip-hop, as judged by Chance The Rapper, T.I., and Cardi B. Yesterday, Chance put out an Instagram callout, looking for someone “unsigned, dedicated, and ready.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co. will have a hand in producing the show, set to debut in 2019.

None of the rappers-turned-judges are strangers to the screen: Chance recently played the leading role in slasher movie Slice, Cardi B was a Love & Hip-Hop: New York fan favourite, and T.I.’s starred in his very own reality show T.I & Tiny: The Family Hustle

Netflix’s push into reality television has proved fruitful, with the wildly successful Queer Eye reboot already under their belt. That said, the music landscape of music—hip-hop particularly—has changed quite a bit since they heyday of American Idol. Whether Rhythm + Flow will waterlog hip-hop or cut through the noise remains to be seen—but with Chance, Cardi, and T.I. on board, it’s looking pretty good.
