The catchiness of UV Boi’s music lies in the way each track is laced with murmurs of his own name and the familiar clicks, hums, and exclamations of iPhone alerts and PC sounds as they’re pitched and warped into percussion loops and distant melodies. Everything is constructed of assets that are intrinsically familiar to you, but morphed into new, strange, and fun symphonies. Tell us a little about this release.
‘LUV’ is a track I produced and collaborated with my friend Fionn Richards & Brooklyn based duo Brasstracks. The song is about finding love and getting lost with that person, whether it be URL or IRL.
What inspired the artwork for this track?
The original photograph was shot by Mitchell Hall at Tkay Maidza’s Brisabane show. I felt a strong connection with the photo, it just represented everything the song was about.
What else are you working on at the moment?
Debut EP.
Do you have any shows coming up?
Yes I do. Im on a national tour beginning late this month.
