In the lead up to joining Drake‘s Summer Sixteen Tour next month, Future took some time to pose for his first cover of Rolling Stone and take writer Brian Hiatt on the ride of his life, to learn firsthand what it’s like to live the life of Atlanta’s reigning hip-hop king. Future also opens up about the struggles of beginning life as Nayvadius Wilburn (yes, that’s his government name) to rebranding himself as the lyrical genius he’s known as today.
