With the Weeknd‘s meteoric star still very much continuing on its rise toward superstardom, a cover story with Rolling Stone seems only appropriate.

The media-shy star, also known by his real name Abel Tesfaye, gets incredibly candid with the music rag, talking openly with journalist Josh Eels about getting kicked out of school, his past history with drugs, and his fractured family life. He also answers a lot of our questions on more commonly talked about topics.

On sex: “I’ve had a lot of sex.”

His hair: “I want to be remembered as iconic and different. So I was like, ‘Fuck it — I’m gonna let my hair just be what it wants.”

On how he hooked up with Bella Hadid: “I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness. My motive was literally to work with her.”

He also tells a story about the time at a Grammy’s after-party where Taylor Swift wouldn’t stop touching his hair. Classic Tay Tay.

You can have a full read of the article over on the Rolling Stone website. It’s a pretty comprehensive write-up on a guy who, despite bringing the world one of 2015’s ultimate bangers, is still a massive enigma to many.
