EL-P and Killer Mike of Run The Jewels are as serious as they are jokers. They promised a remix album of Run The Jewels 2 after a fan created a Kickstarter to fund Meow The Jewels, which would feature an array of cat sounds over new beats. Proceeds from the album will be donated to the families of Eric Garner and Mike Brown, who tragically died last year as a result of police brutality.

Well Just Blaze is responsible for the second track off the album ‘Oh My Darling Don’t Meow’, the remix of ‘Oh My Darling Don’t Cry’, that starts with Blaze watching Cat Week and features a bunch of meows and a man screaming of cat overload.

El-P says that the Kickstarter-funded charity project will receive all of its release details including its actual release date next week sometime. Listen to the track above and watch the video in the gallery to find out more about Meow The Jewels.
