Hip-hop heavyweight Talib Kweli has released his latest single ‘New Leaders’ in the leadup to his upcoming album launch. The track is produced by Statik Selektah, and Kweli has fittingly chosen to bring in Brooklyn up-and-comers The Underachievers (from Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label).

Kweli opens with the line “Welcome to the new age,” before splitting verses with Issa Gold and AK across the five-minute track. With this sentiment and the input of one of New York’s most promising new hip-hop duos, ‘New Leaders’ makes for an exciting preview of the album due out this week.

Kweli’s upcoming album Gravitas is set to drop December 15 via Kweli’s website. In the meantime, listen to ‘New Leaders’ below.

If you’re in Melbourne, come see The Underachievers as they turn it up for ACCLAIM’s #31 the ‘Loud’ issue launch party. With supports Deer, Mat Cant and Rydah, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. RSVP via the CAT Facebook page is essential.
