I don’t know about you but I’ve been waiting a minute for the reunion of Pharrell, Chad and Shay aka N.E.R.D and our prayers are finally answered, albeit in a fairly unconventional way. The trio – whose tracklisting includes the likes of ‘Lapdance’ and ‘Everyone Nose’ – have come together to bring us ‘Squeeze Me’, the first track to be featured in the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants animated film. Bare in mind this is for a children’s movie, so it is expectedly cutesie and feel-good, which is kind of in line with most of Pharrell’s recent catalogue anyway but hey, N.E.R.D! This also isn’t P’s first time getting around a movie soundtrack (see Despicable Me) OR SpongeBob Squarepants (see below) but hopefully bringing all three together on this track will be the catalyst for some new N*E*R*D material in the very near future.
