In 1990, A Tribe Called Quest released their debut album People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm… 25 years later, the group announced that they will reissue the album which marks the first of a string of ATCQ album reissues.

The first one is expected to drop on November 13 via Sony Legacy and has been remastered from original tapes by Bob Power, who has done sound engineering for the likes of De La Soul and D’Angelo. In addition to the original tracks, the reissue will also feature to-be-announced remixes from a bunch of modern rappers.

“I had this album in my head for years before I did it,” Q-Tip voiced his thoughts on the reissue in a recent press release. “Looking at it overall, to see the thoughts of a 16 year old gain any kind of acknowledgement makes me feel like I have arrived… But to see it in this incarnation … I’m humbled.”

Also offering his thoughts, Ali Shaheed Muhammad adds, “This album means a lot. It was the beginning of our careers; the beginning of our imprint; the beginning of seeing life the way we saw it, and being able to put it down in words and music.”
