The late ‘90s and early 2000s were a great time for all manner of rock groups and, due to the sheer amount that rose to prominence, one might be forgiven for getting them mixed up at times. One thing I can’t personally forgive, however, is mistaking Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo for Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd. That shit hurts my feelings. And probably hurts Rivers’ feelings too…not to mention confusing the shit out of him.

Apparently the Weezer singer has received “elaborate fanmail packages,” intended for Boyd, delivered to his house. Twice. At two separate addresses. Rivers first mentioned it in his Reddit AMA and then, again, during his recent appearance on Larry King Now, which you can see above. Apparently Rivers hasn’t bothered to pass these on to Brandon (shade!) or return the parcels to the sender but it isn’t clear if this is even a legitimate case of mistaken identity. Maybe there’s some low-key alt-rock beef going on there that Rivers’ mates are capitalising on? Maybe we’ll never know.
