Melbourne label docGIRL is making a grand comeback with the launch of its latest collection, ‘GIRLS ARE LOVELIER’. Departing from its iconic pleated skirts, the label now introduces fresh patterns, tees, and unique designs, all crafted locally in Melbourne. This collection, led by an all-women team including photographer Ellie Phan and videographer CPASH, along with Helena and Akelo, showcases the essence of the Australian creative scene.

Hansika, one half of the sibling duo behind docGIRL, shares, “docGIRL allows people to be a part of a safe space, being embraced for exactly who they are. The people we are involved and interact with have become part of our long term relationships… Our family – Reflecting this family dynamic between my brother and I.”

This collection emphasizes women’s wear, underscoring themes of strength, beauty, and confidence. docGIRL’s evolution is evident in this drop, showcasing not just growth in design but also in the personal creative journeys of the founders, particularly Hansika’s venture into crochet.

The ‘GIRLS ARE LOVELIER’ capsule is inclusive, featuring zip-up hoodies, baby tees, singlets, T-shirts, and trucker hats designed for versatile styling. Each piece boasts distinctive branding, bold graphics, and nods to pop culture.

The collection will be unveiled at a release party on March 22nd at Halide Gallery in Collingwood, Melbourne, where select items from the SS24 capsule will be available for purchase. The event is open to friends, family, and the public from 6PM-10PM AEST and will also feature a press-on nail collaboration with Fern Arisara and music by DJs CPASH and SAVAGETHEGIRL.

If you can’t make it to the pop up, mark your calendars for March 27th, when the ‘GIRLS ARE LOVELIER’ collection goes live online at https://docg.studio/
