01. Converse launches One Star Hotel in London

The One Star Hotel offers up a unique take on luxury 5-star establishments. Designed as an amalgam of all things sneaker, skate, fashion, and music related the hotel aims to unite the communities to create a looking glass into the ‘90s lifestyle which helped define the One Star’s adoption today. The five-floor operation will be manned by everyone’s favourite tracksuit wearing streetwear fanatic Gully Guy Leo, with the added bonus of curated live events from the likes of Yung Lean, A$AP Nast, Beijing’s Tizzy T, and New York City’s MadeMe. Each of the live events will take place in individually designed guest rooms alongside other various product and digital installations. New One Star addition’s and re-ups of coveted versions will also be on offer. If you find yourself in London on February 16 & 17 head over from 6pm to 8pm for a one off experience.

02. Reebok x Pyer Moss

One of the more unique additions to 2018’s already impressive sneaker catalogue comes in the form of Pyer Moss’ otherworldly DMX fusion sneaker. Further compounding the fashion industry’s not-so-secret love affair with the chunky aesthetic, the shoes were spotted in the label’s runway show last week. Looking to breathe new life into the retro DMX technology the sneaker champions the chunky outsole pairing it with a sleek ultra-knit upper. Thick interlocking laces with pull-tabs twist across the shoe with the added bonus of customisable adjusting. The right sneaker features a quote by Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean Raymond whilst the left notes Pyre Moss by Reebok Classic branding. Little is known about possible release dates and retail value at this point in time but hopefully we can expect this futuristic collaboration to hit shelves in the coming months.

03. Off White x Air Jordan 1 new colourway

Already being named as a shoe of the year contender the Off White x Air Jordan 1 has rightfully been placed on a pedestal. After last years deconstructed take on the ’80s icon saw people willing to pay resell prices upwards of two grand it’s easy to say Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” is the golden snitch of sneaker collaborations. This latest offering to the lineage is set to release on the February 27 in both men’s and women’s sizing. Currently rumours put this as a European exclusive release, but surely we’ll see it conquer the world with a wider release eventually.

Quite possibly the founding father of the chunky sneaker climate we find ourselves in today, the modern classic Ozweego silhouette returns for its third incarnation in a new batch of colours. Featuring adiPrene cushioning for superior comfort, the ever-impressive collaboration has been re-fashioned in cream, maroon, and light purple colourways all dressed in canvas and patent leather. All variations are currently available via selected stores.

05. Nike Air Max Day Lineup 2018

This year Nike look to combine the past, present, and future with the Vapormax technology standing as the flag-holder for Air Max Day 2018. Two more monochromatic iterations of Virgil Abloh’s fabled collaboration “The 10” will headline alongside an Air max 97 silhouette with a twist. The latest incarnation of 2017’s favourite shoe will see the classic AM97 upper marinate atop a Vapormax sole coming out in the crowd-pleasing ‘Silver Bullet’ and ‘Japan’ colourways.

Atmos and Nike’s illustrious partnership will continue to remain evergreen with a re-issue of the animal pack with black pony hair detailing. The Air Max 270, which heralds as the newest member of the Nike family is also set to pay homage to trailblazing designer Tinker Hatfield releasing in a selection of retro colour palettes. And last but certainly not least, Sean Wotherspoon’s winning hybrid Air Max 97/1 contribution to the VoteForward competition will finally release in wider numbers. Stay tuned for more details as they develop.
