Marking 20 years as a pro skater, the legendary Eric Koston and Nike SB have released the second generation of Koston’s signature skate shoe. The Koston 2 is, naturally, an evolution of the original silhouette but with a few tweaks to increase comfort and performance. Drawing from his love of the Nike LunarGlide+ running shoes, Koston made sure the latest model had increased ventilation and heel counter for a more secure wear.

Now, I’m no skater, but I’ve known a few and anyone who’s ever watched these guys in action knows the intensity they can put their bodies, and their shoes, through. It’s pretty clear that the Koston 2 is bred for, and from, a life of hard skating. This pair will come in a number of colourways but you can check out the specs of the classic colour combo in the gallery above.

The Nike SB Koston 2 retails for $170 and will be available at select Nike retailers and skate shops beginning April 1, 2013.
