RECAP GALLERY: Nike SB x Jarritos launch Melbourne

The iconic Mexican soda gets the Nike SB treatment — check out the action from launch night!

What was once a rumour amongst skaters, sneakerheads, and Jarritos Soda lovers alike, is now one of the most sought-after releases of the year.

Culture, tradition, and craft collide as the Nike SB Dunk Low Jarritos weaves the iconic soda brand’s culturally rich history into a thoughtful canvas and leather sneaker inspired by the original canvas bags once used to harvest the vibrant fruits that make up the refreshing beverage. The SB Dunk Low pays homage to culture, tradition, and craft with custom insole art, bold colours, and materials.

This collaboration was a no-brainer; flavour and fashion have always collided at the skate park. Unique to the sneaker is its ‘tearable’ canvas exterior, revealing a ‘Mandarin’ orange in high-abrasion areas through skating or through intentional customisation.

To celebrate the Australian and New Zealand launch, Melbourne and Auckland’s fashion, skating, music, and culture pioneers gathered to enjoy evenings filled with flowing Jarritos and Patrón Tequila cocktails, authentic Mexican street Food, live art installations, and a live modification performance to show the personalisable nature of the shoe’s exterior.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Jarritos is more than an iconic shoe, it is a story of how a soda once created in a humble Mexican home in 1950 has stayed true to its Mexican heritage and has paved its way to being a soda that is both loved and recognised globally, to have eventually collaborated with the World Most Valuable Sports Brand.
