Street cultures golden boy Ronnie Fieg has worked with architecture firm Snarkitecture again, who helped redesign his Manhattan KITH store last year. Now the two have collaborated on Fieg’s NYC store, which according to Business of Fashion saw Fieg dropping $2 million. Are we surprised?
The store has 750 white Air Jordan 2 sneakers suspended in mid-air, which is an ode to the Jordan 1 sneakers that are hanging in the Manhattan location. There is even a cereal/ice cream bar called Kith Treats, which offers 24 different cereals and 25 different toppings, from Oreos to Lucky Charms marshmallows. Fieg placed this in his store as “Some kids can’t afford to buy an article of clothing every other week or every month, so they can leave with a taste.”
Fieg also told Business of Fashion that 60% of the store’s business is done at the retail level as opposed to online, and that business had grown 300% since last year. Ronnie also plans to branch out into womenswear, with his first women’s store opening in December.
