YouTube channel WatchCut Video has released the 16th episode in their excellent series on worldwide beauty trends over the past 100 years. Previously exploring the decade-defining looks for countries such as India, Russia, and Ethiopia, this newest video looks at the makeup and hair rocked by Japanese women throughout the 20th century and up until the present day. The video showcases all the classic and mainstream looks of the eras, as well as providing insight into the subcultural movements of the 1990s and 2000s, such as Ganguro, Gyaru, and Harajuku.
