J. Cole releases first part of “Road to Homecoming” doco

"Dreamville, give us a year we'll be on every show"

To build excitement around his HBO special, Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, J. Cole has announced that the 90-minute special is actually Part 5 of a series. Shot by Dreamville Films, The series—titled Road to Homecoming—will document some important moments through the last year of Cole’s life on tour and insight into the album rollout process. The series will feature four mini-docs, with the preceding episodes airing every Wednesday leading up to the January 9 concert debut. The first episode shows Cole surprising fans with private listenings of his 2014 Forest Hills Drive album before it dropped, a visit to a classroom as a speaker at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, impromptu freestyles and much more. The mini-series will only be available online until the January 9 release of the full concert documentary. Afterwards, Cole plans to release everything on DVD. I don’t think I’ve ever been as appreciative of a Hump Day until now.
