These three creatives might look like they’re about to drop the hottest mixtape of 2016, but there’s more than just a good-looking album cover in the works here. Despite being close friends, they’re all individual artists rather than a collective. So nope, no mixtape. Rather, they’re all making moves that mark the beginning of a new wave that goes beyond just the hype.

Straight outta Sydney, this visual feed is courtesy of none other than resident shooter Darren Luk. With a drive to bring as many fresh faces into the limelight as possible, Luk knows how to finesse that A1 shot every time—not to mention we 100% fuck with his music taste. Pictured, are three names to know from the Sydney hip-hop scene—Manu Crook$, Miracle, and I.E.

After scoring a spot on Triple J’s rotation for his track ‘Everyday’ and coping love from The Fader, Noisey, and Zane Lowe for his track ‘Blowin Up’, it’s safe to say that Manu is living up to the song’s name. A testimony to that, his latest track ‘Assumptions’ just hit the air via Zane Lowe x Apple Music Beats1. The beat goes in heavy and guarantees a turn-up with that dark melody, especially considering that it’s produced by the miracle worker himself.

Having launched his own label this year, Miracle has his sights set high as he seeks to push for a more dynamic hip-hop scene in Australia. Flexing some impressive production skills, this artist and songwriter has already enlisted the likes of Anfa Rose and Travy P for WVS—a label that seeks to build a platform for the culture this new wave of hip-hop is breeding. It’s all about giving talent that was previously overlooked a space to create and experiment, whilst working towards a more progressive torrent of Australian hip-hop.

This ethos is shared by I.E, who has hit the refresh on his artist journey. Lord knows we’re all about that ‘Rebirth,’ and from what we’ve heard, I.E has more than a few tricks hidden in that overall pouch that we’re definitely not about to sleep on. Stay tuned for more music from these east-siders and in the meantime, you can check them about below and be sure to flick through the gallery above for all the aesthetic.
