With the Olympics geared to commence in a few months, NikeLab is proclaiming 2016 as the “Year Of The Windrunner”. The quintessential athletic brand has partnered once again with long-time collaborators Stone Island and Sacai to re-imagine Nike’s iconic Windrunner jacket. Created in the late ‘70s, the Windrunner jacket became the first piece of Nike apparel sported by athletes at track and field events before and after competition. Today, nearly 40 years later, the brands re-vamp the jackets in two distinct styles. Using the dyeing and technical innovations of Stone Island and the irreverent faux-fur approach of Sacai. 2016 should be rather interesting following the release of the two.
The NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner jacket will be available on December 17 at select NikeLab retailers and on nike.com/nikelab.
